My interest in jewelry started in childhood with my Mom's jewelry which to me was like precious jewels. About 8 years ago on a family vacation out to the Black Hills I bought a beaded necklace that sparked my interest in creating my own jewelry. Since then I have been working with all different mediums. I love working with polymer clay and wire, there are so many possibilities. There are so many wonderful jewelry artists out there that have really inspired me to try different mediums.
I grew up in Buffalo, Wyoming, a small western town at the foothills of the Big Horn mountains. My sister and I spent endless hours outside enjoying all of God's beauty. The Bighorn Mountains are breathtaking. Every Sunday after Church in the summer my family would take a drive up into the mountains and most of the time we would drive through Crazy Women Canyon and stop for a picnic or walk along the streams. In Early summer the Lupines are beautiful! It's a perfect place for a family vacation. My parents used to own Indian Campground in Buffalo and it is a very active tourist town. It's on the route to Yellowstone so alot of families stop on there way to Yellowstone. Fall and Winter are beautiful too with the yellow Aspen trees twinkling against the pine trees and open blue sky. And in the winter we would go skiing, it was like a winter wonderland. That has been some of my most cherished memories of my childhood. If you get a chance, check out the Bighorn Mountains website, it's very detailed and there are alot of beautiful pictures.
Another website that you might want to check out is my sister's. She grows and dries her own flowers and creates beautiful wall hangings, centerpieces, etc.
Most of my jewelry pieces are inspired by nature and I hope to rekindle some of those childhood memories for the ones who purchase them.
For the past 25 years I have done pencil drawings when I get a chance. Living out west has influenced me alot in what I like to draw. When I see something that is special to me I want to draw it. Like the purity and strength of a Native American or the innocence and love of a child. I love to draw with pencil. With black and white, you seem to look deeper into the subject and really feel the character in them. I have 3 prints available for sale. Photos and prices are listed on the "Artwork" link to the left.
Thank you for taking the time to visit my website and have a wonderful day!
